So I'm learning a lesson from this guy and going to stretch out on the beach like I own the joint :)
I find that when I make time for myself, whether in the form of yoga or cleaning or laundry or exercising or even aside from these things, in some sort of meditation to just simply be....and breathe....and relax, is when I am at my most peaceful and most grounded state, with energy reserves to draw on whenever I'm ready to get stuff done! (because however hard we try, stuff still needs to get done...)
I believe a lot of energy lies dormant within ourselves and when we feel that burst of creativity and are ready to be active and enlivened, having had a certain amount of relaxation enhances our experience in the present state of being.
Some people are reading this and saying to themselves, "yea right. i'm busy, lady!"
Easier said than done, I know.
When I had mucho stuff to do and was running around all crazed because my adrenaline levels were on the rise is when I needed to remember to relax the most, and usually when I had the hardest time doing so.
Now I feel like I am harboring relaxation and ideas are seriously bubbling to the surface! Having time to chill means having more time to think and create and analyze and understand. I've been scrapbooking like a mad woman, combining my writing with my pictures with my creativity with my love for books and colors :) Chris says I'm blogging in the real world again. ha.
I also feel an increased awareness as to the possibilities out there. Different opportunities, as far as local publications, businesses, and just people looking for hard workers, have presented themselves and I feel fortunate to have an array of options available to supplement my bohemian lifestyle.
Hunter S. Thompson, one of my faaaavorite authors, once said, "if you want to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you're going to get locked up."
I get bummed thinking of how many things one must pay for in order to survive, and thus my very great, very pertinent, long-time-coming shift to sustainability.
I need very little, really, in order to live and relax and be happy... and quite honestly the more I provide for myself, the happier I am!
the joy and peace I get from gardening runs deep.
*reading, relaxing, planting, dancing, thinking, making, loving, praying*
I love this lifestyle and it is not mine or your's or anyone in particular's... it is just a way of being...it is there for everyone.
maybe you have similar themes in your life or experiences along the way?
may your day be so bright as well~

I don't even know what to say here because these are EXACTLY the musings I've been having lately! In any case - love your blog - added it to my blogroll!!! Thanks for visiting and I'll be back!
Fabulous - I especially love this bit:
"I believe a lot of energy lies dormant within ourselves and when we feel that burst of creativity and are ready to be active and enlivened, having had a certain amount of relaxation enhances our experience in the present state of being."
I used to feel so guilty for taking time out to relax. Thankfully I've let go of that (well, mostly.) I understand what you are saying and Know it to be true.
Thanks!
