I've been making a habit out of throwing my book and towel into my bike basket and cycling to the beach as these days have been getting warmer. Sometimes Chris and I go together, othertimes I go alone, stretching out on my towel on the sand and sunning to the smell of salt and suntan lotion. There's something nostalgic to me in lying on the beach reading a good summery romance novel while digging my toes in the sand, dipping in the cool ocean water and then waiting for the heat to dry my shoulders well enough to reapply the SPF 15 I managed to remember. The soothing surf nearly calls for nap time as I lose myself in the stories Nora Roberts so intricately weaves.
Ah. The beach :)
It's Sunday, Father's Day 2010, so here's my bloggly shoutout to my awesome daddy! The Hartless patriarch is not only a PhD. genius mathematician and engineer, but a bicyclist, motorcyclist, auto-trading, ebay-enthusiast, woodworking, multi-sport athletic west coast-originating compassionate yogi papa : )
Happy day to all Fathers out there!
